The Book of Job
INTRODUCTION:
The Book of Job has generated much discussion regarding the dating of the book. Most people place the date as very early - possibly one of the oldest books in the Bible. The book is a very special message about suffering in this world.
Some Key Passages:
** Job 1:8-12, 2:4-6

** Job 3:1-6
>>> Job begins to moan and grown!
** Job - Chapter 4
>>> Eliphaz speaks first (probably the oldest) and says the gist of what all Job's friends said throughout the book.
** Job 6:14-25
>>> Job again speaks and states what he feels to his 3 "friends" as he
continued to do throughout the book.
** Job 9:13-35
>>> Job's great discourse on needing a savior !!

>>> Elihu enters the scene

Job's "friends" corrected - Job recovers
SUMMARY:
- Suffering is not always the result of sin.
- When we suffer, God is still concerned about us.
- Our "friends" may not really be our friends when the chips are down.
- God does allow satan a certain amount of power on the earth.
- We must be devoted to God - even in suffering.
