Job & Epistemology

In the bible study on Job I present a chapter whether Job is an Existentialist. That is, whether the question "Why do the righteous suffer?" has a comprehensible answer. This question, like most questions in philosophy, can be turned into either a question about epistemology "How can we answer the problem of suffering?", or a question about metaphysics "What is the nature of human suffering?". It may help you to read the book of Job (I have several translations on the web site, as well as lots of links to summaries), but you may be able to take the quiz without it. The chapter on Existentialism will get you started. You may want to look at the Theodicy chapter to get more information. Use the epistemological triangle (revelation, experience, reason) to identify the positions of the following characters regarding the question "How do we answer the problem, Why do the righteous suffer?":
Be prepared to defend your positions in class.

At several places in the Job study, particularly the two chapters above, I have presented a view that truth is personal. Which part of the epistemological triangle is this stressing? If you can't see any connection, explain why not. How does this epistemological solution attempt to solve the fundamentalist / liberal controversy?
