Management

Dr. Robert Sheldon is the PI at UAH where he oversees the post-doctoral student and the work at MSFC and Auburn. Dr. Dennis Gallagher has had extensive experience in 3-D modelling of cold plasmas, and will assist in the calculation the full 3-D models of the dusty plasma sail. Dr. Paul Craven is an experienced data analyst who will assist in the analysis of the experimental data and the construction of empirical models. Both Craven and Gallagher are instrumental in coordinating the MSFC support, having experience in several major collaborations: TIDE, IMAGE, and the MSFC Large Scale M2P2 Experiment. Dr. Abbas background is suited for the delicate work of extracting scattering profiles from single dust grains through sophisticated inversion algorithms. Dr. Adrian, with his successful experimental development of a miniature ion spectrometer is responsible for the construction of the MSFC experiment and the training of the post-doctoral student. Dr. Thomas, with his own graduate students at Auburn, will be developing the techniques for extending his work on space charge to the parameter regimes of space.
